Résumé

Discover the book Kisetsu, les quatre saisons by Barbara Luel in our Travel collection. "In Japan, despite the world, you never feel rushed or oppressed. This is because each individual protects his or her own bubble of intimacy and is careful not to penetrate that of others. Whether physically, through noise or smell...". Barbara Luel has a passionate love of Japan. It's there that she finds the inspiration that sets her watercolour palette alight. Also a heritage architect, she pays attention to every detail. The secret of an interior garden, the washing that dries, the bamboo blinds too, or the balcony railings... All connected by electrical wires and dotted with flowers and plants. Little things make a whole. "A delight to draw and look at," says the author.

L'Auteur

  • Barbara works as an architect in a Brussels office. Whenever she has a free moment, she sets off to draw and paint the world, whether travelling or simply in Belgium. Twice a month, she runs an art workshop in a care home for people with dementia, and gives private drawing lessons.

Her blog gives practical advice on creativity in general, and drawing and watercolour in particular. She is also very active in the Urban Sketchers community in Belgium.

She works mainly with ballpoint pen, Indian ink and pencil, combined with watercolour.
