In this travel diary, Defe invites us on an artistic journey to Bali.

Far from the beaten track, the artist pays attention to detail. His work as a visual artist and draughtsman is reminiscent of Séraphine de Senlis. Or an artist in Vuitton's Travel Book collection.

Going to Bali remains a dream for many of us. But there's also the other side of the coin, which is the difficulties of waste management.

The author, Laura Roncallo, points the finger particularly at plastic and waste at sea. She puts herself in the shoes of a white monkey (a mythical character). In the final part of the book, she condemns those responsible for this ecological tragedy.

    Carnettiste à part, Defe est un artiste contemporain attaché aux détails.

    Il est né à Imperia, en Italie. Il est diplômé en technologie dentaire à La Spezia, ainsi qu’en illustration à l’Institut Européen de Design de Milan. Il a aussi été joueur de football à l’AS Monaco puis à la Spezia Calcio.

    En 2017, son carnet de voyage Équateur est publié aux éditions Apeiron. Il a également participé à sa première exposition collective « Carnets de voyage » à Bram (France).

    Au quotidien, Defe partage son temps entre la direction du restaurant familial dans une petite ville de la Ligurie (Nord-Ouest de l’Italie) et les voyages, toujours avec carnet à la main.
